Perhaps what I have seen simply isn't taking advantage of the dual 2GHz processors, but when it comes to SETI@Home, my 2.6 GHz (single processor) PC runs rings around the Mac.My PC processes a SETI@Home packet at a rate of just over 4 hours. I discovered I had made a couple transcription errors in the truth table when I entered it into my software - not the least of which being that one of the inputs was inverted.
