I guess not much has happened over the past few weeks. I can't remember. Too many details about too many things have passed through this cluttered mind of mine.

Speaking of clutter, we are trying to "thin out" and get rid of stuff. In the process, I have done my usual shuffling number, moving stuff from here to there, but not really getting rid of anything. However, things do tend to be consolidated and a bit more organized, now, in preparation for their departure. Now I just need to figure out how to unload the things I don't need anymore - what to sell, what to give away (and where), what to drop from a model airplane, and what to dump in a landfill. Ugh.

I just remembered a computer issue that transpired since my last post. The new computer that we put together had an operating system installed on it...a MICROSOFT operating system...that was, shall I say, acquired from a friend. Well, in Microsoft's wisdom, it has created a licensing scheme that takes a stab at thwarting piracy. Actually, all it is good for is wasting more time...something Microsoft has mastered over the years since they introduced their first graphical user interface. Blah!

Anyway, the grace period expired, so the computer became instantly useless after all the time that was spent setting it up. I even anticipated the grace period expiration and changed the clock back before booting to prevent it from expiring after the computer had been turned off for a week, but the Microsoft A-holes enabled the time service which promptly caused the computer to set its own clock to the correct time, automatically, instantly expiring the grace period and rendering the computer useless.

To make a uselessly long story short, we obtained a legit license code and we were back in business. I think it should be a rule that all software development companies support Linux so that people who actually want to use a computer can actually make progress. A computer is a TOOL! Tools are used to fix problems. Computers shouldn't be the problem! Well, as long as there is Microsoft, there will be problems. One thing can be said about Microsoft...there's nothing small about them.

I have made some modifications to my shop. Not only is it now a dumping ground for everything that I have shuffled around that will eventually be going away, but it is also now my office. I moved my desks out there. I'm not sure it was a good idea, but we're giving it a try. We are making room in the apartment for our audio/video studio, which is why I moved my desks. I like the new arrangement on some levels, and on other levels I don't like it. I like it because it is away from the horrible television, so when I do want to do something on the computer, I can actually think. I hate television, but it always seems to be on - sometimes even when I am the only one home! I have to admit, I like to watch an occasional episode of Star Trek or the Simpson's or Futurama. I still can't believe how little there is worth watching on cable television, even with ALL those channels! It's mind boggling. Especially with all these stupid "Reality TV" shows on now. Of everything on TV, they are the least believable. What's real about them?

You want Reality TV, I'll set up a web cam and you can see how boring reality really is!
